about

an album combining the first two EPs, "heartbreak city" and "someday we will rule the universe," plus a new song.

"nature has always served as an escape.

constantly, i find myself lost in a society that seems to care only about things that won't matter in the end. every night, i find myself thinking about the point of life, and what the meaning is to all these ups and downs when our lives are eventually going to fade.

i don't know the answers to these, but what i do know is that the unexplainable sadness gets heavier with each passing day. there are moments, though, when i get a glimpse of what i think i'm looking for, and it never comes in the form of words; rather, an experience—being in the moment, knowing the 'end' is an illusion, and trusting everything will work out for the best.

these songs were created as an outlet for the incessant pain. the four songs from 'heartbreak city' were written during a specific phase from 2015-2016. the four songs from 'someday we will rule the universe' were written in 2017, in the midst of a different (but still similar) state of mind. the track 'pink-haired rebel' came shortly after.

i'd like to express my sincerest thank yous to those who've inspired me to love, to the people who broke my heart, to all my musical heroes (too many to mention), to filip for believing in me, and, of course, to the natural world."

Track Name: Super Ocean
hey, you
standing by the waves
i just wanted you to know that
you won't be alone again
on this day, i swear
i'm falling in love again
Track Name: I Wanna Die
touch of your skin that's leaving me ill
what do you do when your heart hurts all the time?
i wanna die, i wanna die
but not when i'm with you

with the way you look at me with those eyes
with your head on your knees
and your hands close to mine
i wanna die, i wanna die
but not when i'm with you

my honey, she wants to be known
my honey, she wants to be known
my honey, she wants to be known
my honey, she doesn't wanna be alone

going through this highway always reminds
me of the lonely nights you’d ask me why
i wanna die, i wanna die
but not when i’m with you

what’s the point of living when
everything we’ve known will come to an end, eventually
i wanna die, i wanna die
but not when i’m with you

my honey, she wants to be known
my honey, she wants to be known
my honey, she wants to be known
my honey, she doesn't wanna be alone
Track Name: Don't Leave
you made me see something i knew i couldn't have
when you caught my name and thought it to be strange
as you brought your hand to mine
i heard you humming a melody
so i sang along the beating of your heart

i don’t know about your feelings
and i’ve lost my faith in mine
but i know i feel alright when i’m with you

and you say you’ve got a passion for
living until you find the truth
but lately all you think about is dying

wide awake
falling under night skies
dreaming of tomorrow
washed away
we’re the kids they don’t believe in
but i believe in you

i miss the way you’d take a picture of the sea
so you’d remember all the cold when it was over
and we’d talk about absurdity and laugh at our existence
and we’d stay up late

when we’re drinking cups of coffee black
to drive the pain away
i think my meaning is wherever i’m with you

now you say you have to go home
won’t you stay until the day comes?
how much more before we go our separate ways?

wide awake
falling under night skies
dreaming of tomorrow
washed away
we’re the kids they don’t believe in
but i believe in you
Track Name: Unexpected Caller
our time will never run out
there's too much beauty in this world
to care about what they think of me

everybody, say hey
we've been in a lot of pain these days
but nothing comes as close to the good kind

let's go to a secret meadow!
let's go on a grand adventure!
anything just to make me feel like i did
back when i was younger

gonna climb all the mountains
gonna kill sexism and all the naysayers
anything just to make us feel like we did
back when we were younger

i'm so in love with you (hey!)

i wanna live in the moment
but it's so difficult when you look the way you do
driving beside you with our songs
at the top of our lungs
i hope this goes on and on and on

let's go to a secret meadow!
let's go on a grand adventure!
anything just to make me feel like i did
back when i was younger

gonna climb all the mountains
gonna kill sexism and all the naysayers
anything just to make us feel like we did
back when we were younger

i'm so in love with you (hey!)
Track Name: Pink-Haired Rebel
hiding in the cold
always running out of answers
we were sprawled out on the floor last night

'cause you're my pink-haired rebel
won't you stay forever
i can't stand another day of all this getting older

i know your soul
i've seen you in the haze of every ending
through windows, suspended, prescription

stay with me
and we could die together
it's a lonely world, but then we've got each other
Track Name: Forever (And Ever and Ever)
twenty-one
could you be the one to heal my aching heart
your hair on your glasses
can i tell you
every time i look at you, i think about
the years i wasted

when you hold my hand
does it mean you like me too
when you tell me that you miss me
i'd spend my day with you

forever

now you’re mine
could you be the one i’d spend the rest of my life with
your constant smiling
to the 3 ams
nothing else can matter 'cause you’re here by my side
i want to die

when you hold my hand
does it mean you like me too
when you tell me that you miss me
i’d spend my day with you

forever
Track Name: You Left Me on Prom Night
i see you
i breathe you
my sweet
standing in june

when the sun comes
she won’t be around
we’ll set like lovers in bloom

when you go
just go
pay no mind to my breaking soul

rendezvous
9:30
my heart is falling apart

playing best friends
beneath the stars
let’s dance and
call it a night

when you go
just go
pay no mind to my breaking soul

when you go
please go
pay no mind to my breaking soul

why can’t i wipe all those tears from your eyes?

when you go
just go
pay no mind to my breaking soul

when you go
please go
pay no mind to my breaking soul

when you go
please go
pay no mind to my breaking soul ---
Track Name: Quit Feeding off the Loneliness of a Generation
an empty life
from the moment i found you
crashing down from
your bathroom window

don’t you get it
war is over
and no one wants
to be at your shows

fake your empathy and connections
motivating the cliques and likes
taking hold of a generation
by feeding off their isolation

you can’t expect
when you’re not respecting
"man up, skirt down
cover that skin"

give your seat up
'cuz she’s a lady
but you don’t give a shit
about the human race

sexist views
disguised abuse
victim blaming
you can’t even choose

is it any wonder
all my friends are sad
watching all the loneliness
turn into "cash out"
Track Name: Forget About the Possibility of Us
i'm the one
and i bet you don't know me anymore
what's the point of it all
when you wake up to an empty bed
with empty feelings in a crowded room

and i gave you my all
i gave you what was
left of this broken heart i had
now you're gone

you said you'd never leave my side
but you did
now how can i trust anyone anymore?

remember those nights we shared
just talking till the sun would rise
we'd dream of a life so far from us
with such a rush
i know you don't even care about that

and i gave you my all
i gave you what was
left of this broken heart i had
now you're gone

you said you'd never leave my side
but you did
now how can i trust anyone anymore

can anyone tell me what's the point of living
when i feel so happy, i just wanna be missed

do you remember
up the staircase
where i met you
when i fell you

under the moonlight
how i found you
us together
here forever

i wanna kiss you
i wanna hold you
i wanna show you
i wanna marry you

i wanna kiss you
i wanna hold you
can't live without you
i'm gonna marry you

i'm gonna marry you
but you shut the door
